Be careful while using homonyms.
Homonyms are those words that have identical spelling and sound but have different meanings. So, you should be careful about using them. For example, the word capital is used in two terms. One is used as the head city of a country, and the other is used as the asset of someone. The examples are: Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan, and they have invested much capital in the academy.
Though some words have different spelling, they have similar sounds. In that case, it is a bit confusing. For example, ‘I visited the Bazar but could not find anything having chief prices. The sentence is written wrong. Instead, it should be written thus: ‘I saw the Bazar but could not find anything having cheap prices.

Only use those words familiar to you
Using those words familiar to you means that you know their meaning because if you use some words of which definition you don’t know, it will impact your writing badly. Sometimes, you make mistakes while using some attributive words as a writer. For example, we use a handsome attribute for a boy and a beautiful one for a girl. If you use these words in contrast, you will not be a good writer.
Remember the 5 W’s
Remember! While writing, you should write complete information about a topic. Your writing must have the capability to answer all the five questions that may arise in someone’s mind while reading. When you write a blog or an article, you should keep in mind what the readers need to know.
Avoid using passive sentences
You are using sentences in active voice while writing in the English language. However, using passive voice is not restricted, but it may reduce the engagement and interest of readers in your writings. For example, two sentences are written below; one is in active voice while the other is passive.
A movie was being watched by Ali. He was seen by his father. Then, he was scolded by his father, but Ali was protected by his mother. She was told by her husband that a movie was being watched by their son, Ali.
Ali was watching a movie. His father saw him. Then, his father scolded him, but his mother protected him. Ali’s father told his wife that their son was watching a movie.
Now, have a glance over both sentences. Which one is easy to understand? Certainly, the last one, because it is written in active voice.
Avoid ambiguous sentences
You can be only a good writer when you use simple and easy to understand sentences. If you write a difficult sentence to show up your vocabulary and English Grammar skills, you cannot become a successful and fine writer. For example, there is a sentence, “the chicken is ready to eat.” This sentence has a dual meaning: the chicken is ready to be eaten, and the chicken wants to eat something. So, being a writer, if you aim to write about chicken as a food, then you should write the former sentence, and if you desire to write about chicken’s action, you should write the latter.
